Scene 1:

A child's first cry should be something celebrated something all parents record in their heart to reply to themselves when the nights are long. The wonderful sound of life that echos through the cold hospital room should be followed with happy cries and warm laughter yet for 和也 it was accompanied by shocked gasps and anxious voices.

It was unusual, in fact it was so bizarre that the word unusual was mildly putting the situation. The child had been brought into the world only to vanish instantly in the nurse's arms, though his weight still remained. The only confirmation the doctors had that they indeed helped deliver the baby was their wails that continue to echo throughout the room.

The mother, 系子, like any other mother delighted that her newborn was alive and crying frantically asked to hold her child. The nurse holding the baby walked up to the mother, carefully transfer the invisible weight to 系子 and held her breath waiting for the mother's response. In fact, everyone held their breaths waiting for the crazed reaction 系子 would have. However, all that came was a gentle mother's cooing and soft giggling.

"和也, hello my child. My darling. My world. I love you so."

Just like when the fairy godmother sang her magic words, the child's colour returned. He just lies there, peacefully with his mother looking like any other baby would
